Abstract

The Indonesian economy has experienced rapid growth since the economic reforms of the mid 1980s. Real GNP growth (1983 prices) averaged nearly 6% per year in the 1983–88 period and 7% per year (8% for non‐oil GNP) in 1989–94. Per capita incomes have also risen from $542 in 1983 to the present $1000.
