Abstract

This brief theoretically demonstrates the existence of global adaptive observers for: (i) induction motors (IMs); (ii) (surface-mounted) permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs); (iii) interior PMSMs (IPMSMs). Such observers innovatively achieve, on the basis of rotor speed and stator current/voltage measurements, an arbitrary rate of exponential convergence, with no direct current injection into the estimates expressions and no requirements of transition matrices-based conditions (such as regular input persistency).
