Abstract

Rationale: The Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) released new universal criteria for diagnosing and grading malnutrition. The accuracy of scored-GLIM system has validated both in nutrition assessment and in survival prediction for patients with cancer. Despite advances in surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis. In the preoperative period, and even more in the postoperative period, nutritional support is important in order to ensure a good quality of life and recovery after surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status of patients submitted to pancreatic surgery with GLIM criteria.
