Abstract

On the basis of literature review the methods of purification of the products of polyurethane (PUR) waste glycolysis, with the aim to reuse them in PUR syntheses, were presented. These methods are: extraction, distillation, and removing of amine groups, detrimental in the further process of PUR preparation, by use of e.g. alkylene oxides, glycidol ethers or cyclic carbonates. Methods of testing of glycolysis products and the products of PUR waste decomposition allowing finding the optimal glycolysis conditions were described. Possibilities of reuse of purified glycolysis products in the syntheses of PUR foams, elastomers and adhesives as well as biodegradable PUR composites were discussed.
