Abstract

Periodic structures with higher symmetries have the potential to unlock many enhanced properties of microwave products and enable the development of novel components. The dispersion properties of these structures, however, are often not spatially isotropic which limits their application in some cases. For this reason, we focus on the analysis of holey structures with glide symmetry and their isotropic properties. Through analysis of different holey structures and periodic lattices we demonstrate which design directions are to be used when one of the priorities are good isotropic properties and where are the limits of considered structures.
