Glauber calculation of heavy-ion and light-ion inclusive break-up cross sections

Abstract

Abstract The small-angle, singles spectra of α-particles in the reaction 159 Tb( 14 N, α) at E LAB = 95 MeV are qualitatively well reproduced with a simple hybrid model including break up of the 14 N nucleus and the subsequent strong interaction of the 10 B with the target. The Glauber approximation was employed for the purpose. The model is also tested in the reaction 62 Ni(α, 3 He) at E LAB = 172.5 MeV.
