Abstract

Occurrence of the glassy state in the xAgI(1− x)Sb 2S 3 system was investigated by DTA and DSC methods. A glass transition followed by an exothermal glass crystallization were observed on DTA curves of samples obtained after melting and quench-cooling of the AgISb 2S 3 mixtures. The glassy state exists in the entire mole fraction range of 0.1⩽ x⩽0.9. The glassy transition temperature as well as the crystallization peak temperature depend on the mole ratio of components. An eutectic with melting point at 384°C appears in the observed system. At 328°C a solid-solid phase transition appears at composition near the 0.6AgI-0.4Sb 2S 3.
