Level of Evidence 2b Purpose To assess the performance of 3 restorative approaches and 2 different materials (glass ionomer and dental amalgam) for the restorative treatment of occlusal caries lesions involving dentin: the ART approach in combination with a chemical caries removal agent; a modified-conventional approach carried out in a portable dental clinic setting; and a conventional approach carried out in a dental clinic.
