Abstract

Glass-forming regions were determined by quenching 10g melts at various cooling rates in the NaPO 3 -MnCl 2 system. The critical cooling rate for glass formation exhibited a minimum at 85 mol% NaPO 2 . Melt viscosity was measured and the liquidus viscosity was calculated according to the liquidus temperatures. The glass-forming tendency was discussed in relation to the kinetic parameters based on the crystallization theory.
