Abstract

The glass-forming region in the Se-Ag-I system is determined. The glassy phases in it are situated in the Serich side of the triangle diagram contain up to 22.5 at.% Ag and up to 12.5% I. The glassy state of the phases is proved by X-ray and electron microscope analysis. Investigations are carried out on the basic properties of the glassy phases obtained-glass transition temperature, microhardness, density, mean molar volume and chemical resistance, discussed in terms of their composition. A structural model of the glasses is proposed on the basis of these properties and the X-ray analysis.
