Abstract

Three cases are reported of proven parathyroid adenoma located in a lobe of the thyroid. This situation must always be borne in mind when searching for the parathyroid in the neck, and the excision of a lobe of the thyroid may save the patient from an unnecessary sternotomy and mediastinal exploration.
