Abstract

More than 1200 photographs of Greenland glaciers have been digitized and are now available at the Online Glacier Photograph Database, housed at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) in Boulder, Colo. The database includes 50 photographs taken between 1890 and 1996 of glaciers in Colorado and New Zealand as well as a series of photos of New Zealand's Franz Josef Glacier taken between 1951 and 1964. NSIDC has partnered with the NOAA Climate Database Modernization Program and the National Geophysical Data Center to scan selected photographs that compose the online database.
