Abstract
The view of Buttermere and the High Stile Range from High Snockrigg is quite magnificent and enables one to pick out many details of both the glacial geology and the solid rocks. It is not an arduous climb from Newlands Pass at 340 metres to High Snockrigg at 530 metres (NY 187 169), and it is an advantage to go on a clear day armed with binoculars when all the details of the topography can be picked out (figures 10, 11 and 12).
