Abstract
A previous small systems helpdesk column outlined the importance of requiring as‐built plans to be part of any utility's construction projects (December 2001). This month's column outlines how a geographic information system (GIS), used in conjuction with a global positioning system (GPS), can be more reliable as an alternative to as‐builts.
