Research Article| May 01 2017 Girard and the “Sacrifice of the Mass”: Mimetic Theory and Eucharistic Theology Anthony R. Lusvardi, S.J. Anthony R. Lusvardi, S.J. Pontifical Atheneum of St. Anselm, Rome ANTHONY R. LUSVARDI is a Jesuit transitional deacon pursuing graduate studies in sacramental theology at the Pontifical Atheneum of St. Anselm in Rome. He completed previous degrees at Boston College, Loyola University Chicago, and Notre Dame. His pastoral work has included time in Haiti, northeast India, and on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. In addition to academic articles, he has published numerous short stories and literary essays. Before entering the Jesuits he served in the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan.
