Abstract

When evaluating Giorgi Tavzishvili's pedagogic merits, we should pay special attention to the merits that he brings to the formation and development of Georgian pedagogy as a science. From this point of view, it has played an extremely important role in the creation of a pedagogy manual in the Georgian language. In the 1930s of the XX century, there were still no textbooks in the Georgian language on the issues of pedagogic methodology. This gap in our pedagogical science is somewhat filled by his work "Methodological Foundations of Pedagogy," published in 1933, where such issues as the definition, goals, and objectives of pedagogy as a science were formulated in the form of theses. Education as a social process and its goals and objectives, the social regularity of pedagogy, and biological factors. In conclusion, it will not be an exaggeration if we say that many things in Giorgi Tavzishvili's pedagogical approaches are acceptable and should be considered even from a modern point of view. However, while evaluating his pedagogical ideas, it should also be noted that there is no universal formula for conducting the educational process in the desired way, and this process is constantly changing both based on historical experience and in accordance with modern requirements.
