Abstract

Giant right atrium is an unusual cause of cardiomegaly. We report a case of massive cardiomegaly where the definition of the enlarged chamber was difficult using routine noninvasive techniques. Apical (four-chamber) two-dimensional echocardiographic studies clearly demonstrated the giant right atrium. This finding was later confirmed by cardiac catheterization.
