Abstract

Giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect has been studied for the sandwiched FeSiB/Cu/FeSiB films in the frequency range 1-40 MHz. The magnitude of the maximum GMI ratio ([Z(H)-Z(0)]/Z(0)) is 13.6% for a magnetic field of 20 Oe and a frequency of 3 MHz, and the magnetic field H/sub p/ at which the maximum GMI ratio occurs is discussed. In addition, the sandwiched FeSiB/Cu/FeSiB films display larger negative values of the GMI ratio at relatively larger magnetic field. Frequency dependence of the GMI ratio shows that there is a sharp peak in the GMI spectra with the increasing frequency.
