Abstract

Two cases of giant condylomata acuminata involving the anorectum, with extensive involvement of the anus, rectum, and adjacent structures, are reported. Applications of Podophyllin and local excisions were followed by prompt recurrence. Following radiotherapy, which produced regression of the lesions in both cases for a few months, the lesions recurred. In one case the lesions proved fatal due to diffuse intrapelvic and peritoneal spread, in spite of abdominoperineal resection and chemotherapy. The second patient was lost to follow-up after a year but continued to have progressive disease.
