Abstract

A giant calcified patent ductal aneurysm with hypertensive aneurysmal main pulmonary artery in a young woman was approached through a left lateral thoracotomy combined with limited sternotomy. Under hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass, patch closure of the ductal orifice through transpulmonary route and plastic reconstruction of the pulmonary artery were performed. Follow-up studies showed satisfactory outcome.
