Abstract
In this article the current discussion about the effect of mass media depictions of violence has been summarized. The authors argue a learning theory position, i. e. negative effects by showing violence are considered to be plausible. This is true particularly for problem groups, which is why the authors present the new approach of problem group analysis. In spite of the dangers of violence on the media they are warning against precipitate censorship
