Abstract
The UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) put #1m in into project run by trade body intellect to promote grid computing to companies, maintaining that there is 'huge potential' for it in UK business. The money is being used to build a knowledge transfer network (KTN) called IFCnet, which will provide advice on grid computing and point to applications. The RealityGrid project pioneered the concept of computational steering.
