Abstract
The University of the West Indies (UWI) is a three-campus, regional institution serving 16 countries in the English-speaking Caribbean.1 The campuses are the Mona Campus in Jamaica, the St Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago, and the Cave Hill Campus in Barbados. The countries served are island states separated by the Caribbean Sea, with small populations ranging from 5,000 in the volcano-ravaged island of Montserrat to some 2.5 million in Jamaica.
