Abstract

We demonstrate how to implement a simple gesture recognition system based on a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system, powered by a commercial 24 GHz radar module controlled by a Raspberry Pi computer augmented by a cheap AD/DA card. The basic setup of the FMCW radar consists of an up-chirp and down-chirp pulse, where the I/Q-signals are recorded through the AD/DA card.
