Abstract
This study aimed to verify what are the characteristics of publications on credit cooperatives in Brazil in the period from 2009 to 2018. To do so, it used bibliometric analysis as a method through the base of google academic scientific articles. The results showed that over the years the region with the most predominance in relation to the proposed theme was the southern region of the country. With regard to the content of the research, the results showed that the growth process of cooperativism in Brazil is gradual, solidifying over the years and factors such as the fundamentals of cooperativism, the use of performance indicators and risk analysis are variable fundamental to the efficiency of this segment in Brazil. The contribution of this study and research related to the management of cooperatives is on the rise in Brazil and the form of management using performance indicators and risk analysis are fundamental variables for achieving the efficiency of credit unions.
