Abstract

Democratic management presupposes a collective action, with the aim of forming honest and responsible citizens, for this to be possible the management has to be reflexive, critic and committed to the collective interests. The objective of this paper was to comprehend what concepts the community of the Education Center of UFSM has about democratic management and if these concepts are present in the current management. The study was carried out with a questionnaire that approached issues referring to the management, democracy, democratic management, management in the Education Center, democratic management in the Education Center and satisfaction with the management of the Education Center. The questionnaire was distributed in the three segments of the Center, in order to know what the perception of this community in relation to the current management is. The calculus for finite populations was used in each segment to calculate the sample size of the docents, administrative technicians and pupils.
