Abstract

The effect of gestational weight gain on pregnancy outcomes in obese women is not well studied. Given the tendency for postpartum weight retention and the implication of pregnancy in the development of obesity later in life, further study is required to determine appropriate gestational weight gain ranges for obese women. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of reduced weight gain on pregnancy outcomes in obese and morbidly obese women.
