Abstract

In the past several years, studies have revealed an alarming increase in the number of obese patients, of diabetes, and also regarding the age at which women get pregnant. Family doctors – as they have a good knowledge about their patients, the risk factors and the consequences which diabetes has during pregnancy not only for the mother, but also for their children’s health – play an important part in managing these affections.
