Abstract

Gestational diabetes (GDM) is a risk factor for multiple postpartum sequelae, including the development of future type 2 diabetes and long-term cardiovascular disease (CVD). We sought to investigate the association between GDM and risk for readmission for CVD complications in the first year following delivery. We wanted to compare this risk to that of subjects with pregestational diabetes (DM), including both type 1 and 2 diabetes.
