Abstract

This descriptive-exploratory study examines gerontology field work and practicum experiences of thirty-eight graduate social work students who additionally completed gerontology certificate programs. Data were gathered through content analysis of field work and practicum contracts and field evaluation summaries. Study findings reflect a variety of learning expectations and opportunities at micro and macro practice levels. Curriculum implications to better prepare students for gerontological social work are presented.
