Abstract

This article presents an overview of the evolutionary stages of professional education as it applies to the development of instruction in gerontology. The demand for well-prepared personnel is likely to increase, and understanding these stages should help not only gerontology faculty but also administrators and curriculum committee faculty make appropriate program decisions.
