Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), cystatin C (Cyc-c), and interleukin-18 (IL-18) levels which are frequently used as kidney biomarkers in geriatric rats and to compare with those in young rats. For this purpose, 12 geriatric Wistar albino rats (30-36 months old) (six males and six females) and 12 (2-3 months old) (six males and six females) Wistar albino rats were used in this study. 24-hour urine samples of all groups were collected, and blood was collected for biochemical analysis under anesthesia.
