Abstract
IT was over a quarter of a century ago that Nature, in discussing the report of the committee on spiritual healing set up in accordance with Resolution 63 of the 1920 Lambeth Conference, said that the committee had set aside or failed to solve "problems of the greatest magnitude and importance from the scientific point of view". Ten years previously, another clerical and medical committee had issued a report on which precisely the same judgment could legitimately have been pronounced, while to-day we are still in the same state of ignorance in spite of the activity among us of at least two 'spiritual healers' claiming remarkable powers.
