Abstract

ABSTRACT To obtain further information concerning the internal structure of the mound Pulemelei mound and its temporal and spatial relation to structures and habitation areas in the vicinity, investigations using remote sensing methods ground penetrating radar and a magnetometer have been employed. The use of geophysical techniques at Pulemelei was a pilot project to evaluate if they might be applied more broadly to monumental sites in the Pacific.
