Abstract

In the literature there are dozens of articles devoted to the theoretical studies of Bennett's mechanism. However, there are very few articles on the practical use of Bennett's mechanism. The reason for this is the features of the geometry of the links and the technology of their manufacture. By their geometric structure, the mechanisms under consideration have zero and non-zero links. Here we consider the geometry of the kinematic chain of the Bennett mechanism and its links. The research on the influence of the mutual orientation (direction) of the axis of the joints of the links on the assembly of Bennett's parallelogram and the of Bennett's antiparallelogram is presented. These mechanisms are considered when the kinematic chain is closed and when the kinematic chain is open.
