Abstract

The common theme of the articles “γ-function of Representations and Lifting” and “Geometric and Unipotent Crystals” is the geometrization of familiar objects. In the first article we interpret some special functions appearing in the theory of representations as materializations of geometric objects which we call algebraic-geometric distributions in the second one we interpret elements of the crystalline basis which parametrize the special basis of finite-dimensional representations of reductive groups as materializations of geometric crystals. Moreover these two topics are very much interwoven since the theory of geometric crystals is necessary for the construction of our algebraic-geometric distributions.
