Abstract

In 1903 Juan Cabré discovered the first prehistoric site with Spanish Levantine rock art (Roca dels Moros). During the course of the study, Henri Breuil discovered the nearby complex of Els Gascons. After the study of both shelters, Cabré himself extracted the rock art motifs of Roca dels Moros and Els Gascons. Today, the three deer from the first site are exhibited in the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya. By using different technologies (Laser scanner, Structured-light 3D scanner; Photogrammetry; and equirectangular images) we have documented both the rock support and the decorated blocks still preserved at the Museum trying to rebuilt them on two different stages so we can observe them as they were at the discovery moment and a recreation of the paintings in prehistoric times. We have combined different digital techniques to obtain a virtual restoration of the support and the paintings.
