Abstract

The purpose of this work is to introduce a geometric definition of problems arising in passivity-based control design. We present a coordinate-free version of the well-known matching equations resulting from the Interconnection and Damping Assignment Passivity-Based Control (IDA-PBC) design and show that feedback equivalence between control-affine systems can be used to define a family of matching problems for which an explicit solution is known. We illustrate our findings on a non-isothermal CSTR model.
