Abstract

The correlations between geomagnetic secular variation (sv), length-of-day variations (Δ lod) and polar motion (Δ m) were often related to geomagnetic or topographic core-mantle coupling. The magnetic coupling seems high enough to influence Δ lod, but it is too weak to do it with respect to Δ m. The topographic coupling is strong enough to influence Δ m, but too strong for Δ lod. Some efforts to remove these discrepancies failed up to now.
