Abstract

SummaryDrilling and completion procedures for Morrow sandstone reservoirs in southeastern New Mexico must be designed to anticipate vertical variations in clay mineralogy in the wellbore, because different reservoir sandstones can have different authigenic clay compositions. In southeastern New Mexico, well control and sample control are more than adequate to facilitate such predictions.
