Abstract
Photogeological studies of the area shows the presence of four major lithological groups as : 1. Precambrian basement made up of granitic gneisses and Charnockites, 2. The Utatur Group of rocks, 3. The Trichinopoly Group of rocks and 4. The Ariyalur Group of rocks.
