Abstract

In order to understand the geological characteristics and ore-controlling factors of graphite ore more accurately, in this study, the geological characteristics, genetic analysis, ore-controlling factors, and prospecting direction of Yandilatu and Kujinggou graphite deposits in southern Inner Mongolia are studied by means of field survey, instrument analysis, and chemical detection. The results show that the shape of Yandilatu graphite deposit is near the level, the burial depth is 46–62 m, the thickness of ore body is 16.32–116.31 m, the fixed carbon content is 2.48–9.50%, and the average thickness of Kujinggou graphite deposit is 149 m. Four layers of ore bodies with fixed carbon content of 2.43–19.53% are found, which belong to large crystalline graphite. In summary, the prospecting potential of graphite deposits in this area is great. Most of them are concealed ore bodies. The combination of geophysical prospecting and drilling has become a fast and effective means of prospecting in this area. The top limestone and the roof kaolin of graphite ore bodies are important indirect indicators of prospecting for graphite deposits in this area. Therefore, this study is of great significance for the rapid and accurate exploration of graphite ore and the maximum use of graphite ore in China.
