Abstract

More than 30 geological and technological parameters to affect the predicted production of reserves in carbonate reservoirs were studied to solve exploration tasks. A physical interpretation of the findings is given. The paper concludes that there is a need for complex geological and statistical modeling. The analysis does not give the parameters that most largely determine oil recovery due to their cross-correlation dependence. The final answer can be provided by a comprehensive oil recovery model involving all parameters and an analysis of cause-and-effect relationships.
