Abstract

The geological history, tectonics, and structural zonation of the island from Paleozoic through Late Tertiary is examined to determine the distribution of hydrocarbon deposits. The Dagninsk and Ossoy uplifts, the Okhotsk and Tatarian intrageosynclinal zones, the Konginsk anticlinal zone, the Pogranichnoye graben and others offer the best prospects for oil and gas exploration. – IGR Staff.
