Abstract
An improved model for determining carbon stocks in dead organic matter (DOM) of forest ecosystems has been proposed, and respective geoinformation technology has been developed. The geoinformation technology integrates input data collection in the field, processing the data, a mathematical model for estimation of the carbon stocks in DOM and tools for forming thematic maps and graphs for presenting the results. The proposed geoinformation technology enhances the accuracy of estimation of the carbon stock in the lying dead wood and litter in forest ecosystems and obtaining a spatially explicit estimate of DOM carbon stocks of forest ecosystems.
