Abstract

The present study was conducted on the basis of the official statistical data of the Main Informational and Analytical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia presented for 2018-2021 for the Russian Federation . The geography of criminal victimization of orphans and children left without parental care for the period from 2018 to 2021 in the Russian Federation is examined . The data are grouped by federal districts of the Russian Federation and by crime category . We analyzed trends in the number of crime victims among orphans and children left without parental care for the period from 2018 to 2021 by crime category and federal district . The chronological framework is due to the lack of data for 2022 to date . Data for 2021 are presented separately due to the fact that child victims without parental care are a separate category in 2021, rather than orphans as in previous periods . Trends in the number of orphans and children without parental care crime victims from 2018 to 2021 were analyzed by crime category and federal district . The chronological framework is due to the lack of data for 2022 to date . According to the results of the study, conclusions were made about the need for further systematization of data on victims-orphans and victims-children without parental care, depending on the form of their placement .
