Abstract

The Road Map for 21st Century Geography Education in the United States was an initiative to identify priorities for research, professional development, and assessment at all levels of geography education. Since the publication of the Road Map Project's research agenda, an interdisciplinary network of researchers has worked to implement multiple lines of research supporting the Road Map Project's recommendations. This entry reviews this network's engagement with the concept of transformative research in an effort to improve the rigor, quality, and value of research in geography education.
