Abstract

The intraspecific structure of Mellicta ambigua (Menetries, 1859) is revised and the ranges of its subspecies are specified. Mellicta ambigua kurmaevi ssp. n. from northern Yakutia is described and the lectotype of M. ambigua ambigua is designated. Contentious issues related to the identification of typical localities and authorship of the taxon kenteana (Staudinger, 1897) are resolved.
