Geographic variability of the number of hooks and length of honey bee wings has been found within valley areas of European Russia. The presence of a direct relation between the number of hooks on the hind wings and length of the fore wings is established. The relation between geographic variability of bee weight and size of wings and number of hooks connecting them probably has adaptive significance.
