Abstract
84 The data on tooth morphology of extant and extinct taxa are widely used for solving various prob lems in the systematics and phylogeny of the family Mustelidae [1–5], including the subfamily Lutrinae [6–8]. However, the morphotypic variation of otter teeth is vague. This paper is the first to describe the morphotypes of the cheek teeth of the river otter (Lutra lutra) and analyze their geographic distribution in Northern Eurasia.
